The 20-minute wardrobe reset
You don’t need a free weekend to feel in control of your wardrobe. You need twenty focused minutes and four simple rules.

A full wardrobe edit is wonderful — but most weeks, what you actually need is a reset. Twenty minutes, one timer, and a few rules that stop the chaos from creeping back.
Minute 0–5: clear the landing zones
Every wardrobe has a chair, a hook or a corner where clothes go to wait. Start there. Anything clean goes back on a hanger; anything worn goes to the laundry; anything that needs repair goes into one bag by the door.
Minute 5–10: one hanger, one direction
Switch any wire or plastic hangers you touch for slim velvet hangers, and turn every hook the same way. It sounds small; it is the single fastest way to make a wardrobe look calm. Matching hangers also save up to half your rail space.
Minute 10–15: sort by category, then colour
Group like with like — blazers, shirts, dresses, trousers — then run each group from light to dark. You’ll see instantly what you own, what you wear, and what you keep buying twice.
Minute 15–20: fold, file, cover
- Fold knits instead of hanging them, so they keep their shape.
- File-fold T-shirts upright in a drawer so you can see every one.
- Slip a sheer shoulder cover over the pieces you wear less often — occasion wear, suits, silk.
A wardrobe doesn’t stay organised because you’re disciplined. It stays organised because the system is easier than the mess.
If twenty minutes turns into “I need help”, that’s exactly what our Wardrobe Organization sessions are for.
